What’s a small moment from your past that you still think about years later?

Unfortunately, I cannot think too much about the past due to an overwhelming number of negative moments. However, there are still quite a few good ones in my memory banks for sure.
One such moment was at my grandparent’s house. My sister and I were playing outside, when we noticed a cat hiding under the bushes. My grandparents were not a big fan of cats, so I was surprised one was hunkered down in their yard. We were never allowed cats either so we were always so fascinated by the fact they would just be running around the neighborhood.
Anyways, we walk up to it and at first, it was just sitting there staring at us. I was under the impression it was going to let us pet it, until it decided to bolt off. I remember being startled by the sudden movement, so it took us a bit to realize she had been sitting on some kittens.
These babies were still quite young, with only some of them having their eyes open. We were so excited that we went to get our mom and grandmother. They gave them a quick once over, getting some fleas off of them, and returned them to the pile. Eventually the mom did come back and retrieve them.
This was my first memory of seeing kittens in real life, so I was so extremely happy to have finally witnessed these creatures. I can still hear their sweet sounds in my head to this day.
