Which languages do you speak and how did that impact your life?
Unfortunately, I can only speak and understand English fluently.
Being that I live in Texas which is a hotspot for Spanish and Vietnamese native speakers, I feel as though I am missing out.
Even in school, cliques were being made based on what languages you spoke so I was left out of those and even ostracized at times. I remember those horrendous moments when people I thought were my friends, would start speaking in Spanish around me so it felt as though they were constantly talking about me.
I would love to be able to go into a place of business and speak to them in their language. It is such a powerful bonding opportunity to make them feel more comfortable as though you genuinely care about their culture. I want to for sure!
