Current Risk (DP#231)

Everything with the van is feeling more and more like a risk if I am being honest with you. Particularly with the people we have trusted to make sure it is in tip top shape.

Their lack of communication and transparency with what exactly they are doing has been causing my stress to skyrocket. We hear that it is ready to travel the US, then the first time we fully text drive it, a problem arises that forces us to take it back up there. It is difficult to trust people when this cycle keeps happening.

At this point, all we can do is pray it is done correctly because my father-in-law is going to test drive it with the mechanic. It is not leaving until everything is fleshed out as it needs to be.

Lord willing, this risk will eventually pay off!

    Despite the problems it seems you all have everything on board. Your father in law will test drive it. So that’s good. You can only do your best – don’t let yourself be succumbed to worrying about that outside your control. It’s a total waste of your brain power and life. But you already know that.

      The worst part about all of this besides how much money we have already sunk into it; is the fact the assistant manager is a good friend of Kolton’s and anytime we have voiced concerns over how this has been going down, it is met with excuse after excuse from him. It feels as though we have been betrayed a bit if that makes sense. He immediately apologized to my father-in-law when he went up there but has yet to apologize to Kolton whose van it actually is. Not to mention, if they have the audacity to expect further payment when they have yet to fix what we have already paid for, is where the majority of the stress is coming from. We feel as though we have been backed into a corner so to say.

    Oh, I can see how that would be so frustrating – especially since the assistant manager is a friend of Kolton’s. You’d expect even more due diligence and responsiveness from someone you trusted and who came vouched for.

    But it seems that trust is well and truly dissipating, and it’s understandable why you’d feel that way, given they haven’t completed what you’ve already paid for. I really hope things turn around for you – you guys deserve much better. I’ll be thinking of you over the coming while.

      I appreciate the kind words Matt. It will eventually work itself out for sure, I just hate the whole waiting part. We were wanting the van to be completely done before Kolton’s birthday in March but now we are just wanting it back for Mother’s Day so we can finally show our families.

      We actually got a call today that the rear end is done, they are just making sure the transmission is good now. Lord willing, it will be buttoned up and done 🙂
