I am taking a more survivalist approach to this prompt as we have been doing some research in living out in the woods.

The ax and knife could be used to create our own weapons and tools, while being excellent tools and weapons themselves lol You are going to need something to hunt and/or fish with, making some sort of twine would be necessary for a lean to or other structure. You could even get some knives that come with strikers on them for fires so you can purify water and cook your raw food in your pot.

Basically, other than those physical things, knowledge is the most important tool in your arsenal for survival. Knowing what plants and animals are in the area is crucial. Understanding the medicinal properties of the flora can save you by giving you access to natural repellents, antibiotics, ointments and creams, etc. Obviously knowing what animals you are around and how to effectively and efficiently process them is critical as well!
