Can you break the law unintentionally? I guess some things for sure, but I feel like once that criminal intent is no longer there, that would nullify a bunch of other crimes such as murder and stealing.

As far as I know, I may have jaywalked when I was younger, before I realized it was illegal to do so. Mainly because all the adults were doing it as well. Besides that, I was always pretty much aware of any rules that were posted anywhere I went, mainly due to my intense fear of getting into trouble lol My husband grew up around some hooligans and was seemingly always getting into trouble, either with each other or the police.

To me, it is common sense to make yourself aware of any and all rules for wherever you find yourself. That lack of awareness and sense is why there are so many tourists and foreigners getting in trouble and even arrested overseas. You have to be smart, at least just a little bit lol
