Whenever I think of any activity, I have overgrown, the biggest example is playing with dolls. My younger sister and I used to go all out for Barbies, Bratz, Polly pockets, etc. We would make up such dramatic scenarios, typically involving a toxic divorce or secret children. When we got into Bratz and realized you could take their feet off, we would always turn it into some sort of punishment for the criminals. Tie them up together like some sort of chain gang and take away their ability to walk lol It was a bit questionable but fun!
We did not just play pretend with dolls, we had a big stent of playing with Littlest Pet Shop animals. With those, it was a bit less dramatic, but still worthy of a TV show lol We used to play with as many of the playsets as possible, creating a small hamlet of professional cats, dogs, birds, you name it. We had an English Bulldog one, and for some reason, he was always slated as the governor or mayor or whatever position of authority would fit that specific scenario. At one point, and this is actually kind of embarrassing, we made videos of us playing LPS and one of the scenarios was acting out American Idol with these things. Ugh I could cringe myself into Oblivion thinking about this but luckily, I did grow out of that behavior lol
I wonder how many of us adults took part into some of this same cringe-worthy behavior as children…
