As a married woman, I could easily mention how I obviously felt very loved on our wedding day and on our honeymoon, all the biggest days in a person’s life. While those days and moments were gloriously sweet, they were almost five years ago, and it would be sad if I had not felt love since then.
Having been with my husband for over half my life at this point, it is always the small things he does from day to day that remind me of how much I truly am loved. For the very picture up above, I was struggling to find the best angle so that it would show us both, as well as my aunt’s beautiful blue bonnets behind us. This is a struggle since Kolton is basically a whole foot taller than me and I am not gonna lie, I was starting to feel perturbed. That is until Kolton decided to kneel in the dirt, allowing me to sit on his leg to get the shot. It may sound insignificant but keep in mind, this was on Easter Sunday, so he was in his nicer pair of jeans and shoes, in the dirt. The fact he was willing to get dirty for me just for a silly picture, instantly brightened the moment and day for me.
Also, there is a baby-faced filter on the picture lol I can assure yall we are both almost thirty at this point lol
Besides that, it is the way Kolton asks which coffee and creamer I would like so he can make it exactly how I want it. It’s the way, he notices when I am going down the spiral of anxiety so he can hold me, pulling me back to reality. His willingness to rub my feet or back after a long and stressful day, or the way in which he cracks a silly joke and looks back to make sure I was laughing as well.
Once the honeymoon phase is gone in any relationship, you have to be able to search out and find those intimate moments to share with your special someone. It is in those moments that keep those butterflies alive and well. After all, love should be shown without having to ask for it.
