Last Thing I Did for Fun (DP#111)

—

Probably play videogames.

We have entered into a bit of a lull with the van since we are waiting for all the mechanical work to be done. This had led me to fall back into playing videogames since I have found it hard to concentrate on reading. Right now, I have gotten reinvested into some ‘Papers Please’ and ‘Stardew Valley’ since they are both relatively chill to shut my brain off for a bit. My cheaper non-gaming laptop can handle both games pretty easily as well compared to other meatier games on Steam.

I have been holding off renewing my Kindle membership so reading has become less available as of right now. I am just not wanting to spend money on things that are not as needed which is unfortunate. Going from reading every single day, to not picking up a story in days, makes me feel kind of yucky honestly lol but it is okay. Tis for a season.

  1. I use Stardew Valley the same exactly way! Sometimes I don’t want a competitive game, I just need a game to take my mind of something.

    1. Yes! It truly is so chill, but you get that accomplishment from it as well.

  2. I’m currently playing COD IV after months may be a year away.
So when you’re clear of no-where and can have some fun then magically the Bots find you. Infuriating. Then the cheats after that. Grr. I don’t know why I stopped playing. lol
To calm down I play World Golf Tour and have fun chatting to people playing that.

    1. Yeah, the botting is the most annoying part of online multiplayer games. I heard the newest COD was disappointing, if you have played any of it. I miss the Zombies days. Ooh I can see the golf game being fun. I used to play the crap out of golf on Wii Sports lol

      1. No, my laptop wouldn’t support any games after 2020 I reckon lol. Never had Wii or any of those things. I think my kids have them at their house – XBox and stuff. Are you referring to plants vs zombies?

      2. Yeah, the newer games do not make it easy on your consoles, that’s for sure. The Wii was probably my favorite console before I got into PC gaming. The Zombies game mode from Call of Duty Black Ops is what I am referring to. Kolton and I used to play the crap out of Zombies instead of the online multiplayer campaigns.

      3. If I had a jacked system and money to burn, I would play latest FIFA version since my son and I love it. He still plays the 20 version on here lol.

The COD Zombies game sounds like fun. We just had a wall hack – Aim bot come in on COD IV so that has curtailed my fun for the time being lol.

My chill time is on ‘World Golf Tour’ and I’m in ‘Legend’ status on that. So looky me!!! haha. And you have to do lots of calculations (and I always liked Maths) and I even made a huge yardage document for each of the courses (on google drive) over the years that I still use each game I play. God knows how many hours I’ve played on that, but it’s a damn lot and the graphics are awesome for a Free to try game on the net. And there’s no cheat players – giddyup! A godsend.

      4. I am glad you and your son both enjoy FIFA. That series has flown below my radar. The only sports-oriented games I have enjoyed was this basketball game from the Super Nintendo and Wii Sports lol

Yeah, COD Zombies is all about surviving as many waves of zombies as possible while trying to get your hands on good guns through these loot box thingies. There is a whole bunch of eater eggs thrown around as well.

Lol way to go with the legend status! That is crazy in-depth golfing right there. Wait, it is a browser game?

  3. like👍♥️

● About Me

Hello! I am Ashley and I simply love to read, and hope you do to!
I am currently 29 years old and living in the state of Texas, USA.

My favorite genres to read and review include romance, fantasy, mystery, and many subgenres of those as long as it is clean. I mainly get my books from my Kindle Unlimited membership, but I also found myself checking out library books on Libby as well.

As you can see, I do not solely post book reviews, I also love posting daily prompt writing, as well as stuff that is going on in my life currently. That being said, my passion is reading and reviewing books to my heart’s content, so hopefully that is something you are also interested in.

I do have a Goodreads where you can follow if you desire (no pressure!) I also have a StoryGraph, of which you can follow me here.
