Lessons Learned Recently (DP#107)

—

Patience is the biggest lesson I have been forced to confront recently.
With everything going on with our future, it has been a constant fight of wanting things to go quicker than they are. Particularly with getting the actual van. The number of days spent browsing Facebook marketplace, messaging people, trying to plan around schedules to look at different options, waiting to hear back, etc. The long-winded nature of dealing with private sellers, making sure the title was clean along with the vehicle itself being worthwhile, was continuously pushing our resolve and will power to keep on searching. Luckily, the patience did work out since we have a perfect sized one now. Unfortunately, we did just enter yet another waiting period with the garage guys so we are now waiting to hear the verdict of what can be refurbished and what needs to be ripped out and bought new.
Seeing the process unfolding and moving along, has been such a blessing in of itself and I honestly do feel more prepared for this whole process. I am even more excited and anxious to start on the actual conversion once all the mechanical stuff checks out.
A skill I have been trying to learn is how exactly to convert a van. From the insulation to the flooring, walls, electrical work depending on what generator we want, the plumbing, etc. These have all been going through my head. While I am terrified of messing something up, I know that I have people around me who are much savvier with this type of thing so I will also have to have patience with myself and everyone else who is having a part in this whole project.

  1. You’re making progress with learning how to be more patient! Once this project is completed you will be so proud of yourself!

    1. Thank you! I am a very detail-oriented person so I hyper focus on each individual step instead of the big picture. It makes it seem so much more gigantic than it actually is if that makes sense.

      1. Oh, trust me! I’m right there with you! When you reach that point, you have to remind yourself to take a deep breathe!

  2. You’ll be fine 🙂

    1. I appreciate the confidence for sure! I just wish it was steady and did not go up and down throughout the day.

  3. 👍👍👍

● About Me

Hello! I am Ashley and I simply love to read, and hope you do to!
I am currently 29 years old and living in the state of Texas, USA.

My favorite genres to read and review include romance, fantasy, mystery, and many subgenres of those as long as it is clean. I mainly get my books from my Kindle Unlimited membership, but I also found myself checking out library books on Libby as well.

As you can see, I do not solely post book reviews, I also love posting daily prompt writing, as well as stuff that is going on in my life currently. That being said, my passion is reading and reviewing books to my heart’s content, so hopefully that is something you are also interested in.

I do have a Goodreads where you can follow if you desire (no pressure!) I also have a StoryGraph, of which you can follow me here.
