Managing Screen Time (DP#68)

To be honest, I struggle with managing my time in any capacity, let alone, on electronics. Whenever I get sucked into something, I can hyper focus on it for hours on end. The fact that my screen time was never limited as a child, makes it even more difficult to pull myself away as an adult. Which can be a negative or a positive depending on how you look at it.

For one, I do the majority of my reading electronically because I have and will have limited space for books in the near future. Also, Lord willing, once we get up and about and are taking more pictures and blogging about different topics, I will be spending even more time online so it is good to know that I can handle doing that for longer periods of time. That being said, I do not have the best eyesight which seems to stem, at least in part, to staring at screens every day. I find myself getting headaches that are accompanied by dizziness and general feelings of discomfort. When I start feeling as though I am getting sick, that is when I force myself to step back and rest my eyes and mind.

It seems like traveling and exploring the great outdoors is the main push to get by butt in gear so I am hoping I can find a more productive balance when we are RVing full time.

  1. Thanks to you, I have replaced more screen with reading time. Woohoo!
I miss my Kindle Ereader for sure since holding weighty books can be a real pain – literally lol Oh and I don’t like reading books from a computer monitor.

    1. Hey that is all on you, my friend! You made the decision to change your own habit.
I love physical books way more, I am just preparing for when we are on the road where the only physical books we will have on us will obtain to traveling, survival and cooking. It would be cool if there was some sort of lending service specifically for travelers but alas, tis not.

      1. Thanks, but you were the instigator / inspiration.

Yes, how you will procure and which books to take on your journey will be something to think about.

About Me

Hello! I am Ashley and I simply love to read, and hope you do to!
I am currently 29 years old and living in the state of Texas, USA.

My favorite genres to read and review include romance, fantasy, mystery, and many subgenres of those as long as it is clean. I mainly get my books from my Kindle Unlimited membership, but I also found myself checking out library books on Libby as well.

As you can see, I do not solely post book reviews, I also love posting daily prompt writing, as well as stuff that is going on in my life currently. That being said, my passion is reading and reviewing books to my heart’s content, so hopefully that is something you are also interested in.

I do have a Goodreads where you can follow if you desire (no pressure!) I also have a StoryGraph, of which you can follow me here.
