This is a bit different from my normal posts as it is more of a life update.
As I have alluded to multiple times in various prompts, my father-in-law, husband and I are in the process of selling the house we all live in. This process is going on two months in the making, the majority of the time spent so far just making the whole property look as presentable as possible. You truly never know how much cleaning you need to do until you are forced to look at every detail in your home lol. We officially wrapped up the cleaning and touchup process last week.
Just a couple of days ago, we had our realtor agent guy come and take a look. This was a tad nerve-wracking as you can imagine. Thankfully, he said we had a very clean house and as long as everything goes well, we should sell sooner rather than later and may even be walking away with a little more in our pockets than what was expected. Very positive news from him for sure! We were able to look at the properties around us that are our closest competitors on the market, and some of them are in not as great shape as ours so hopefully that means something.
Today, we have an appointment with a real estate photographer. I know he is just here to take pictures, but my anxiety is a tad elevated as usual. We decluttered even further and did another once over through the whole house, so I am already pretty exhausted, and it is not even noon yet lol He was originally supposed to be here at noon, but he had to push it back a couple hours, prolonging my anxiety but it is what it is lol In the meantime, my mom is due at any moment to pick up some extra stuff she is taking off of our hands and then we will CAREFULLY eat lunch lol One thing about selling your house is that you have a strong fear of getting anything dirty. I do not want to touch ANYTHING lol
I am assuming after the photos are taken, it is just a short amount of time until our home is officially listed. Probably by the end of the week. After that, we will get scheduled for people to come by and view it. That part I am kind of dreading a bit since we will still have some belongings here obviously but luckily, we do have a safe to lock up our valuables so that is good. During the viewing times, we will probably be dropping some of the heavier stuff off at the property my father-in-law is going to be moving to, dwindling down our attachment to this place.
Once it is sold and we get our half of the final sell, we will go pick up our RV and start the moving in process with that. Ultimately, we are remaining cautiously optimistic about the outcome and timeline of this whole process. If not anything else, this has definitely been a learning moment for us. Lord willing, this can be the end of a very long season of our lives and the beginning chapter of freedom and independence.
