What’s a song that changed your life?

I have a couple of gospel songs that changed my life a bit. If I am being completely honest with you, I used to not be the biggest fan of gospel music but then I realized it was more or less the rendition of the song I did not like.

There are some amazing instrmentalists and groups on Youtube that do phenomenal jobs at making these covers so I will link my top two favorites down below.

First up we have Blessed Assurance. This song can make me cry while feeling very happy at the same time. When it comes to this song, I prefer the slowed down version, instead of the faster paced version we sing at church. We actually had the youth pastor from our church sing this song at my dad’s funeral and was such a blessing.

The second song is Come Thou Fount. I fell in love with this song after it was sung as a special at church one time. The person who sang was a missionary to Scotland with his family and he still had a bit of an accent when he sang.

This version comes from the Celtic Worship channel and is absolutely beautiful with the voices and instruments.
