What does it mean to be a good person?

Being a good person is mainly about having and showing love to your fellow man.
This does not entail allowing yourself to be taken advantage of; after all, tough love is a thing as well.
Being a good person means putting others above yourself. This does not mean other people matter more than you, but we should all have a servant’s heart. We should all have the capability of humbling ourselves to the point which what we want and desire, no longer takes priority in our hearts and minds.
Another quality that makes good people, is the ability to speak up when someone is engaging in wrong behaviors and activities. The belief that everyone should be free to live their own life without other people “judging” them is quite frankly, stupid and asinine. If I see somebody partaking in dangerous pastimes such as taking drugs, gang activity, etc., I would be doing them a disservice for not (lovingly) calling them out. It is quite possible to have an honest heart-to-heart conversation with someone who is clearly struggling, without getting an attitude about it.
Maybe today was just a bad day for them and they simply needed somebody to talk to, saving them from their own heads. You would not have known this if you practiced the passive mentality of letting them do whatever they want and ignoring them.
Ultimately, showing charity and love can be shown in a plethora of ways, all of which may be unique to each of us in our own situations we find ourselves. As long as we engage with the right mindset and keep our own selves in check, me can become the best versions God intended for us to be.
