Top Ten Tuesday – Happy Memories

Top Ten Tuesdays is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl!

Since this week is all about books that give good memories, most of these take me back to various times in my school career, namely Elementary school.

Several of these were required reading at some point, or read to us by our teacher. There are a few others that I read on my free time that I jumped into at some point.

I imagine a bunch of yall have read these books as well since they are pretty iconic I would say so if you have fond memories of any of these as well, let me know!

If You Take a Mouse to the Movies reminds me of our Kindergarten Christmas party. We all sat in a circle around our teacher, Mrs. Taylor as she read a bunch of these short holiday books. It was a complete mood and I still dream of these days.

The Magic Treehouse reminds me of all those reading times in 1st and 2nd grade. We did so many fun activities with these books. I remember we had to come up with our own story of Jack and Annie, it was so much fun listening to all the ideas everyone came up with.

The Polar Express reminds me of 3rd grade, in which we read he book and watched the movie while drinking hot chocolate. Our teacher made golden tickets for all of us as well which was super cool. This was right before Christmas Break as well.

Matilda brings me back to 4th grade which was my favorite grade throughout school. We read the book and watched the movies as a class and I thoroughly enjoyed that whole year honestly.

The Chronicles of Narnia and Holes remind me of 5th grade. We read and watched both movies as a class. We actually saw Narnia in theaters and it was such a cool experience since it was in a science and history museum. A great year to wrap up my elementary school days.

Marked takes me back to my first ever Summer vacation. My friend invited me to the beach with her family. As we were sitting on the beach in our chairs, she lent me Marked to read and I read through a few of the books while on vacation. I can still imagine the ocean sounds when I think of this book.

Twilight brings me back to a very interesting time in middle school. The whole school was divided over the whole Team Edward or Jacob thing, which caused actual fights in the hallways by the way. The librarian sold stickers of both sides after school, completely capitalizing off the situation lol.

Harry Potter was the first series I got into on my own reading time. I remember getting the first four books at once for Christmas one year and it was literally so exciting lol. I would go see the movies in theaters as they came out as well which was even more fun 🙂

I am excited to read some of yall’s best memories with books so let me know 🙂

● About Me

Hello! I am Ashley and I simply love to read, and hope you do to!
I am currently 29 years old and living in the state of Texas, USA.

My favorite genres to read and review include romance, fantasy, mystery, and many subgenres of those as long as it is clean. I mainly get my books from my Kindle Unlimited membership, but I also found myself checking out library books on Libby as well.

As you can see, I do not solely post book reviews, I also love posting daily prompt writing, as well as stuff that is going on in my life currently. That being said, my passion is reading and reviewing books to my heart’s content, so hopefully that is something you are also interested in.

I do have a Goodreads where you can follow if you desire (no pressure!) I also have a StoryGraph, of which you can follow me here.
