Do you believe in karma?

Simply put, I do not believe in karma because it completely contradicts the very foundations of my Christian faith.

For one, Karma is a very impersonal machine so to say, that has no room for grace or mercy. It is a strict rulebook to follow, as if there is anybody on this Earth who has never done anything that would tip that scale.

Meanwhile in Christianity, grace and mercy comes from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as He is the one that paid for our salvation through the shedding of His blood on the cross. He strives for a personal relationship with each and every one of us due to the overwhelming love He has for us.

Karma dictates that we always get what we deserve, while Christ’s gift of eternal life is offered to us even though we deserve eternal damnation.

Karma suggests that one’s spiritual standing, whether positive or negative, stems from one’s works. This is an interesting concept in of itself as there are many many people who do outwardly good things, but their heart is as black as coal.

Through Christ, we are saved through grace and putting our faith in His final work on the cross. It is all about Him and He did, not what we have done. It says it multiple times throughout the Bible that we are not saved through works, or else everybody would become boastful and prideful with themselves. Kind of how karma causes people to behave.

Needless to say, I do not believe in Karma because it completely goes against my already established relationship with Jesus Christ.
