Top Ten Tuesday – Books with Nationalities in the Title

—

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl!

I am not going to lie, I had to look up most of these. Surprisingly, I only had two in my lists that actually matched the prompt.

The challenge was picking out all different nationalities out of the books I think I would actually read lol. The research was quite fun nonetheless!

My reviews for the two I have read:

Short synopsis over the other books:

  • Murder in the Scottish Highlands – amateur sleuthing to solve murders in Scotland
  • Norwegian by Night – two unlikely companions are on the run across the Norwegian wilderness
  • American Princess – Teddy Roosevelt’s daughter wants to stand out and solidify herself in US history
  • A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow – a Miami girl finds unexpected love in an English town
  • The Belgian Girls – split timeline covering the atrocities of both world wars
  • Chinese Whiskers – contemporary Beijing, China through the perspectives of two cats
  • The German Girl – split timeline featuring German exiles from WWII
  • French Pastry Murder – tracking down a murderer in France

      Thanks for visiting 🙂

  6. Ooh, I totally forgot about A Cuban Girl’s Guide! That’s been on my TBR for so many years. Great list 🙂

    1. I just discovered the book through this prompt so I hope we both enjoy it eventually lol.
      Thank you for visiting 🙂

  7. Fab selection! I had to look up quite a few as well!

    1. Thank you!
I always enjoy the more research heavy prompts as you tend to discover so many more great reads that way.
      Thanks for visiting 🙂

  8. I have Norwegian by Night on my list too. This was quite the research project wasn’t it?

    1. Awesome!
It was but I personally enjoy the research heavy prompts myself.
      Thank you for visiting 🙂

Nice picks! These are new to me ones. Even after thinking on it some more, I only managed a total of 4 books that I know I’ve read! Lol.

    Thanks for visiting my TTT!

    1. Some prompts can be rather tricky for sure but you can discover so many great reads for sure!
Thanks for visiting me back 🙂

  10. I definitely struggled with this one, haha. Are you planning to read some of the others you found?

    1. It seemed a bunch of us struggled but we got through the struggle bus together lol.
Chinese Whiskers looks and sounds cute so I definitely plan on reading that one. The other ones, I will give a try as well. The one I am most hesitant about is probably American Princess, since it sounds like it could get kinda physical lol.
      Thanks for visiting 🙂

  11. This was harder than I thought it was going to be. I found two that I had read and struggled to get a list together, so I went a different route. You did great.

    1. I enjoyed your “F” books so no worries! Sometimes its better to change the prompt than stress out too much about it.
Thank you for visiting back 🙂

  12. The first 2 look really fun! Oh I forgot that I’ve read A Cuban Girl’s Guide, I could definitely have used that one.

    1. Thanks! I would say I enjoyed The Roman Holiday Rule quite a bit more than An Irish Bookshop Murder but that is just me.
It is always after I post that I forget one or another lol.
      Thanks for visiting 🙂

  13. Nice list! A Cuban Girl’s Guide is on my TBR too, and I’m intrigued by Chinese Whiskers.

    1. Thank you! I am surprised at how many people knew about the Cuban Girl’s Guide as this was the first time I heard about it.
Apparently Chinese Whiskers is the cat version of A Dog’s Purpose which sounds very cute to me.
      Thank you for visiting 🙂

  14. I had a bit of trouble with this topic as well, but I got there in the end. There are a few books on here that I hadn’t heard of before that look good to me. I’ll have to take a closer look at them!

    Happy TTT!

  15. I struggled this week. I had to go back to the beginning of my Goodreads (2021) and only found 9 😂

    These sound good though!

    Have a great week!

    1. It truly makes you so very aware of how few books you have actually read when these prompts pop up lol.
      You did good though.

Have a great week as well!

      1. Haha it does! I think the next few weeks of prompts will be hard…

        Thank you 😊

  16. Fun, you also got Norwegian, with a different book from mine

    1. Yes! I was honestly pleasantly surprised with how many Norwegian titled books I found.
Nice list and thanks for visiting 🙂
