WWW Wednesday – August 11th, 2026

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam at Taking On a World of Words . All you have to do is answer the following questions each week:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What have you just finished reading?
  • What are you going to read next?

•Currently Reading•

Not much has changed since last week, with the exception of The Paper House.

Currently I am about 75% of the way through the Heir of Uncertain Magic audiobook. There are two or three big plotlines going on right now so this sequel feels more hectic than the first one. Not that it is a bad thing, but the pacing is less steady, making the audiobook a bit harder to focus on.

I am about 40% of the way through the Time Trials. The plot is a bit slow with this one but it is picking up. That first trial is honestly blowing my mind, and look forward to the other ones! There is a meshing of modern and steam punk-like aesthetic that I am in love with.

As far as the Paper House, I am also about 40% through. The back and forth between not just characters but time as well, is a bit overwhelming at times, particularly with the flashbacks within the same chapter. However, you do get a better grasp of the characters and plot this way so I am not minding so much. The story does have a deeper emotional tone which I enjoy as well!

The Twilight Garden by Emma Davies is set to publish on September 3rd. Part of the synopsis:

An absolutely unputdownable story about lost love, second chances, and the importance finding your true self. Fans of The Last List of Mabel Beaumont, Sally Page and Amanda Prowse will adore this stunning, heartbreaking and yet uplifting novel of finding hope in the most unexpected of places.

The Hotel Dancer by Ellie Midwood is set to publish on September 4th. This will be my last WWII Historical fiction for a little while so I am looking forward to it. Part of the synopsis:

Fans of The Midwife of Auschwitz and The Orphan Train will fall in love with this heartbreakingly beautiful book about the terrible choices women needed to make to survive. The Hotel Dancer is an account of incredible bravery in the face of fear, inspired by a true story.

I still may read the 5th Emma M. Lion somewhere in between if I feel like it, or another audiobook. Obviously depending on if I ever finish Heir of Uncertain Magic lol.

About Me

Hello! I am Ashley and I simply love to read, and hope you do to!
I am currently 29 years old and living in the state of Texas, USA.

My favorite genres to read and review include romance, fantasy, mystery, and many subgenres of those as long as it is clean. I mainly get my books from my Kindle Unlimited membership, but I also found myself checking out library books on Libby as well.

As you can see, I do not solely post book reviews, I also love posting daily prompt writing, as well as stuff that is going on in my life currently. That being said, my passion is reading and reviewing books to my heart’s content, so hopefully that is something you are also interested in.

I do have a Goodreads where you can follow if you desire (no pressure!) I also have a StoryGraph, of which you can follow me here.
