Top Ten Tuesday – Books I Read This Time in The Past

—

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl!

The prompt this week is the top books you read on this day for the past ten years. Since I have only been tracking my reading progress seriously for a year now, I am having to pick an alternative prompt.
For this post, I will be choosing my favorite books that were published each year for the past ten years. For example, my favorite book that was published in 2026, 2025, 2024, etc. etc. Now, I will be choosing only books I have read, so I am not saying these are necessarily the BEST books from that year, just my personal favorites.

It is also important to note that Goodreads LOVES to say they do not know the publication date on the lists so I am only choosing the books that were clear when I arranged them by publication date. This is annoying but I did not feel like going all the way through my read books individually finding each date lol.

2016 – Love and Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch: I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I am looking forward to reading the other two in the series.

*My Review*

2017 – Pancakes and Corpses by Agatha Frost: I enjoyed this first book but I dropped the series after the sequel due to not enjoying the characters or tropes.

*My Review*

2018 – The Plastic Magician by Charlie N. Holmberg: This was the final book in the Paper Magician series. While this one follows a different character, the world and magic were incredibly entertaining to read!

*My Review*

2019 – Echo North by Joanna Ruth Meyer: I was blown away with this book! The magical properties of the house and the whole wind thing was phenomenal! I think I remember tearing up at some parts lol. There is a second one but I think it follows a different character.

*My Review*

2020 – The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion (vol. 3) by Beth Brower: This is the only Emma Lion book I am allowing myself to choose for this prompt! I just love this series and am looking forward to continuing the rest!

*My Review*

2021 – The Last Bookshop in London by Madeline Martin: I believe this was the first historical fiction WWII novel I have read. It truly opened my eyes to this whole genre and I will be forever greatful!

*My Review*

2022 – Keeper of Enchanted Rooms by Charlie N. Holmberg: A second from Charlie on this list. I loved the humor and magic system in this series. I am currently listening to the sequel, and plan on reading the whole series’ audiobooks.

*My Review*

2023 – Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross: Once again, I was surprised with how much I enjoyed this book along with the sequel. I ended up giving both of them five stars. The audiobook versions were top notch in my opinion!

*My Review*

2024 – Protecting the Mountain Man’s Treasure by Misty M. Beller: This is the third book in this series and honestly my favorite in the series. I just found the characters and plot so much more exciting than the others.

*My Review*

2025 – Drawn Together by Juliana Smith: This contemporary romance was so sweet and realistic. It was honestly such a sweet story with a hilarious meeting between the two love interests.

*My Review*

  1. Thanks for sharing your #TTT

    1. Of course!
      Thank you for visiting 🙂

  2. My GF keeps pouting because I haven’t read the first Emma Lion book despite it being short…

    1. Lol I understand your girlfriend but it may not be for everyone so I give you some grace.

  3. Ooh, I loved Divine Rivals so much. I recently just finished another one of Ross’ duologies and loved that lots too. Great list 🙂

    1. Same! I was surprised at how much I enjoyed both of them for sure.
I definitely have some of her other books in my TBR as well.

  4. Love and Gelato was on my list, too! 😁

    1. Heck yeah! It was a good one!
I am hoping to get to the second one relatively soon lol

  5. I don’t think I’ve read anything by Misty, but I too like Love and Gelato. It was a fun and mostly feel-good book. 🙂 Thanks for visiting my list today.

    1. I will say Misty’s series starts off strong but gets a bit lackluster as the books go on. If you like pioneer romancey books and do not mind Christian themes, I would still recommend her books.
I loved the whole found family in theme in the book for sure!
      Thanks for visiting mine back!

  6. An interesting looking list. I got The Keeper of Enchanted Rooms after seeing it on your Blog. Need to find the time to read it…

Goodreads can be a bit sparse on details. Sometimes I use Amazon to cross check especially as UK and US publication days vary.

    Have a great week!

    1. Well I hope you like it when you get to it!

Its just annoying because you can go to the actual book page and the information is clearly there but for some reason it does not cross over into your personal lists. I definitely cross check with Amazon as well, I just did not have the motivation to do all the cross checking yesterday lol. Ah yeah the differing publication dates kinda stink. I always hated that with videogames as well.

      Have a great week yourself!

      1. Thank you. I have high hopes for it!

It is a lot of work for a simple detail. I swear they make things more difficult than they need to be!

        Thank you 😊

  7. Now I’m craving gelato. 😂

    1. Same!
This new gelato place opened up near me but it is kind of expensive which is probably a blessing in disguise lol. I can put some gelato away for sure!
      Thank you for visiting 🙂

  8. I see a couple of books I have read. It certainly is fun way to look back that you have chosen.

    1. It is! I love these prompts for that very reason of reminiscing.

  9. The only book here I’ve read, and enjoyed, was The Last Bookshop in London.

Here’s my TTT for the week: https://readbakecreate.com/b-author-names-alphabet-challenge/

    1. Ooh I am glad you also enjoyed The Last Bookshop in London! It was a great one.
Thank you for visiting and onto your post!

  10. I was late to the Emma M. Lion party, and binged all 8 books earlier this year, lol!! Have a good week!

    1. Oh I am way late then lol
I am still trying to prolong my satisfaction with the series by going slower with them lol.
      Have a great week yourself!

  11. I literally just finished reading Divine Rivals and the sequel last month and loved it! I also really love Madeline Martin’s books. I haven’t read Charlie Holmberg, but both books look really good.

    1. They were both so good! I want to read some of Rebecca’s other series as well.
I recommend Charlie’s books if you enjoy historical fiction mixed with magical and fantasy themes. Her world building is great.
      Thanks for visiting 🙂

  12. Nice list! Love and Gelato seems like such a fun, sweet, summer read 🙂

    1. Thank you and I agree!
      Thank you for visiting 🙂

  13. Love & Gelato and Divine Rivals are books that I really loved!! Yeah, it took some research and a bit of time to find the actual dates! I was also doing my post from the car because we were so busy, so it was even more of a challenge. haha

    1. Awesome!
Ugh I can imagine the absolute headache of trying to do the post from your phone in the car. I am getting car sickness just from thinking about that lol. Well you are a trooper for sure!
      Thank you for visiting!

      1. haha, it felt like I was doing a side hustle. Gotta get the kids to soccer. lol! I had some typos, which someone did point out. It’s all good!

  14. I am really excited to start the Emma M. Lion series! It’s been traditionally published here now, so I’m going to pick up the first book.

    1. Awesome!
I hope you enjoy the series for sure!
      Thank you for visiting 🙂

  15. Love & Gelato is just the perfect summer book! Even though the themes are deep, it still breathes summer.

The themes and season went so well with each other for sure.

As you can see, I do not solely post book reviews, I also love posting daily prompt writing, as well as stuff that is going on in my life currently. That being said, my passion is reading and reviewing books to my heart’s content, so hopefully that is something you are also interested in.
