Studying the Bible

Daily writing prompt
What’s one habit that has improved your life the most?

For my 29th birthday, my husband was gracious enough to gift me a Creative Illustrations Bible. It not only has pages in between each book you could color in, but it has plenty of space in the margins to actually take good notes.

Along with the bible, I got a study kit with pens, highlighters, tabs, magnet bookmarks, just a bunch of extra goodies for studying God’s Word.

Right now, I am doing a verse by verse deep dive into one of my favorite books, Revelation. I have read this book countless times before but when you actually take the time to flip through and comparative verses in the rest of the Bible, you learn more each time you read it.

For me, being able to deep dive into the Bible has given me so much more insight into who God is and how much He truly loves and cares for us. I also find studying to be extremely enjoyable so it gives me something to get excited about besides reading contemporary novels or videogames.

I would highly recommend fellow Christians or even people who may just be getting into the Bible to get yourself a good study and note taking one. What you may find will surprise you for sure!

This is the study supply kit I got as well. I will say, the highlighters are not the best. The orange one that I was using for the words spoken by Jesus, ran out in less than two books so take that for what you will.

  1. I see you have your sections color-coded. Do you title your sections? How do you work that it’s interesting?

    1. So I found that if I color code specific themes, it starts to get overwhelming for me so I switch colors with each new chapter. Then I use the same colored tab to mark references elsewhere in the bible so mark it back to that chapter. If I find similar references in different colored chapters, I just underline it instead of highlighting. That just works better with my brain.

      1. That’s so cool!!! I like that idea.

      2. Thank you! That way has been very successful for me so I would just suggest finding the way that makes studying fun for you!

      3. Yes I will thank you.

● About Me

Hello! I am Ashley and I simply love to read, and hope you do to!
I am currently 29 years old and living in the state of Texas, USA.

My favorite genres to read and review include romance, fantasy, mystery, and many subgenres of those as long as it is clean. I mainly get my books from my Kindle Unlimited membership, but I also found myself checking out library books on Libby as well.

As you can see, I do not solely post book reviews, I also love posting daily prompt writing, as well as stuff that is going on in my life currently. That being said, my passion is reading and reviewing books to my heart’s content, so hopefully that is something you are also interested in.

I do have a Goodreads where you can follow if you desire (no pressure!) I also have a StoryGraph, of which you can follow me here.
