Have you ever been tempted by a beautiful book cover? Did you go ahead and buy (or check out) the book as a result? How did that turn out?

I would say, the most recent example of me choosing a book mostly by its cover and actually reading it, was The Elsewhere Express by Samantha Sotto Yambao.

I feel like the cover speaks for itself with its gorgeous sky and water scene and whimsical nature of the train. My expectations were quite high before starting the audiobook as this was promised to be akin to a Studio Ghibli movie. Unfortunately it did not meet those expectations as I struggled to connect to what was happening most of the time. If you are interested in reading my review:

Regardless of how I ultimately thought of the story, that cover is absolutely stunning!
