Profound Advice (DP#264)

Most, if not all, of the best advice I have ever been given has come from the Bible.

  • Proverbs 24:6 – “For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.”
Basically you should not be too arrogant to dismiss advice and guidance from others. Just make sure that advice is actually wise and not foolish lol
  • Proverbs 3: 5 and 6 – “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
We need to be aware of who truly knows the outcome of any and all situations. We should not rely on our own limited view and perspective because more than not, we will be wrong. When we open our hearts and minds to the Lord, we will begin to feel a sort of pull towards a distinct direction.
  • John 13
This chapter is all about the Last Supper in which Jesus took it upon Himself to wash the feet of his disciples. The fact He knew what was about to happen to Him, and yet still chose to personify his servant’s heart, is so telling of his love for all of us. We should have a similar view to our fellow man, loving everyone and even our enemies.
  • James 1:19 and 20 – “Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.”
We should listen and think before we speak in order to avoid conflict. I was just thinking about this the other day as I was watching all these fights breaking out at all these graduations happening around the country. Absolutely appalling behavior. It makes you wonder if all of these spectacles could have been avoided if just one person would have kept their mouth shut.
  • Philippians 4: 6 and 7 – “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Take all your troubles and fears to God through prayer. Once you have the Holy Spirit dwelling within you, the peace you will receive is unlike any other. I tend to forget the thanksgiving part so I need to work on that aspect for sure. Being able to see the blessings around you and be grateful for what you do have is just as important in your prayer life and spiritual walk.

About Me

Hello! I am Ashley and I simply love to read, and hope you do to!
I am currently 28 years old and living in the state of Texas, USA.

My favorite genres to read and review include romance, fantasy, mystery, and many subgenres of those as long as it is clean. I mainly get my books from my Kindle Unlimited membership, but I also found myself checking out library books on Libby as well.

As you can see, I do not solely post book reviews, I also love posting daily prompt writing, as well as stuff that is going on in my life currently. That being said, my passion is reading and reviewing books to my heart’s content, so hopefully that is something you are also interested in.

I do have a Goodreads where you can follow if you desire (no pressure!) I also have a StoryGraph, of which you can follow me here.
