When it comes to voting in local and national elections, my history has waned over the years. I remember when I first turned 21, having the ability to vote was always one of the biggest ‘perks’ of this age. In my opinion, that over excitement causes so many young people to jump into the political sphere with very little knowledge as to who and what they are actually voting for, myself included.
It feels as though all sides of the political sphere just look at these fresh-faced voters as brainless robots to fulfill some sort of agenda. Unfortunately, the militarization of these tactics has been incredibly successful, particularly amongst college campuses. Needless to say, I began to notice the…..issues with how we have handled the whole culture of voting.
While I will not say I will never vote again, it will have to take a serious candidate to hook my attention. People should be taking their votes seriously if you do go down that route. Just per my beliefs, I send up these choices to God and if He pushes me to feel a certain way for any one candidate, I will do it. I have voted on people previously due to the ridiculous property taxes down here, just for nothing to change. Why are we voting for you when we cannot trust actual change to happen?
That is my tea lol
