Just a Stream of Thoughts! (DP#225)

Stress!
It is crazy how much pressure we can truly handle without popping our tops off. While this is not the most difficult time of my life (at least as far as mental health is concerned) it is making its way to the top spots for sure.

If the whole van thing was not enough, we are now going through an appeal process with our dental insurance. Thankfully, the office is helping out greatly with that so now all we can do is hope and pray we will be getting some money back at some point.

As far as the van is concerned, it has been back in the shop for the past couple of weeks. This is the third time it has been in that same shop since December mind you. While Kolton and his dad were test driving it, a coolant hose blew and spewed out all the antifreeze, causing the engine to start smoking. The hose was not properly secured, the engine light never came on, and as it turns out the mechanic forgot to put fluid in the rear-end when we had that replaced. On top of the fact the transmission still struggles to switch over to second gear, even though we paid for a whole new rebuild kit…Needless to say, we are reaching our patience with these people, IMMENSELY.

As far as the build out of the van, the roof fan has been installed and we have bought the wood for the walls, as well as the insulation. We also replaced the headlights, and the tires and rims are waiting at another shop to be put on. Instead of having a backup camera installed, we bought a Bluetooth solar powered one, that we are going to mount on the roof rack. That way, it will be a butt to steal if someone were dumb enough to try. We are just waiting for the van to actually work as intended…

It truly feels as though we will never get out of here, but I know it is just a waiting period for us. When it feels like it is you against the world, that is when you should turn to God for peace and guidance. Because man, that is the only reason we have remained so calm throughout this whole ordeal.

On the flip side, Kolton got him a decent camera, so we have been taking some pictures here and there. The weather has been very indecisive the past two weeks. It has looked and felt as though a storm was imminent but nah. The northern US has been getting smacked up with tornados, while we finally got a mild storm yesterday. Once the weather decides to calm down, we will be taking more pictures and practicing editing them and stuff like that.

Due to this lull, I have been able to put more time in reading, which I have been enjoying as I get motivation and accomplishments from that.

Any who, I think I need a break from hyper focusing on my thoughts, so I am probably going to go read lol

  1. I’m sorry to hear about the recent issues with the dental insurance and the van – that’s a real bummer, mate. I hope the transmission is still under warranty. The new features in the van do sound pretty great, though.

My thoughts are with you during this rough patch. With a bit of perseverance and, by Providence, I hope you’ll come through this run of bad luck.
