Having grown up in the computer age, I have pretty much always had access to that technology that is supposed to make life ‘easier’. I have worked in retail, and an office setting in which this tech made life so much easier and more efficient for sure. I have also worked for a couple ecommerce businesses that would not be around if it were not for the internet.
The latest technological advancement of AI has honestly made my job a bit more difficult in certain situations. When I was working for the school, it felt as though AI was going to show its head around every corner, like some sort of cursed abomination. Teachers had to be even more on edge when it came to making sure none of the kids were using AI, also sometimes the lesson plans were suspiciously written themselves. Absolutely ridiculous.
Nowadays, watching my niece is my main source of income. When she wants to watch cartoons on YouTube, I do find myself avoiding the obvious AI videos. Unfortunately, it is becoming a job in of itself to filter through all those brain rot videos.
When it comes to writing and doing this blog, I literally use AI for the pictures only (at some point, I do want to transition to either using our own pictures, or paying an actual artist to do so, it is just unfortunately expensive to do that right now). Not having to rely on some robot to carry my voice has been liberating. I am definitely not the best writer by far, but my mind works well enough to be able to put thoughts to paper. Also, if I do eventually write reviews for income, I will get banned and fired IMMEDIATELY if I use AI. Why would I want to begin dumbing myself down if I am going to need my ability to communicate naturally and effectively?
