My favorite shoes for the time being, have got to be the waterproof Boulder boots by Lems. I recently got me a pair for Christmas, and they have already changed the way I walk, for the better. They are considered zero drop shoes, which means that your heel and toes are level. Most shoes you buy elevate the heel, causing issues with posture and pain in your feet. With zero-drop, they are supposed to fix your posture, balance, gait, ankle mobility and alignment.
I can definitely agree that they have helped me with my ankle mobility for sure. There has also been a noticeable difference in how stable I feel when I do place my foot down due to the gripping on the bottom. My mom has a pretty steep front yard and driveway that gets covered in leaves and made slippery. These boots, make it so easy for me to climb up without feeling myself slipping and falling. That is kind of the main reason I got these, since we do plan on doing quite a bit of hiking once we get out in the van. Oh, these boots are also waterproof which again would come in handy with being out in nature.
