Overcoming my Fear(s) (DP#150)

I will say, transitioning to van living is probably the hardest thing for me.
Not that I do not want to do it, it is literally a whole new way of life, so I understand my own anxieties when it comes to it. The whole conversion process is a whole other monster. Having very little mechanical and building experience, I have felt way over my head this entire time.

The number one thing that has been keeping my head grounded, is prayer. There have been countless nights of being woken up by my fears of the unknowns and God has been right there any and every time I pray for wisdom and a clear mind. My husband has been a rock for me to cling to throughout this whole process. He truly has taken over the majority of the plans himself, of which I am very grateful. If it was me, I would not even know where to start man lol.

As I see myself on this path already, the main thought that keeps me moving forward is the overwhelming sense of peace and freedom we will have when we are finally leaving. The hope and desire of what is yet to come, has been such a dazzling light for me to follow during the darker moments in my mind. All the fun things we want to do and all the cool places to see and write about, this journey has already been one of self-discovery, and I feel like we have not even officially started yet.

  1. Enjoy the scenery and love every minute of it ❤️

    1. Thank you! That is the plan for sure.

  2. When do you expect to be finally on the road or is it just a wait and see thing?

    1. Right now, we found out there is a bit more needed on it than originally planned, so it is a wait and see. Plus, the weather is going against us working on it. That wind chill can be dangerous. As soon as possible for sure lol

      1. Oh, I see. Yes, I imagine the most important thing is that you’re both well prepared and don’t rush into such a life-changing venture. I just wish the windchill would chill and let you guys do your thang! Hehe.

      2. Exactly. We have a list of what needs to get done before we actually start on the layout. We are definitely not rushing but dealing with patience is the issue lol The weather is just unfortunate lol

      3. Like the old Tortoise versus the hare fable goes – ‘slow and easy wins the race’. That’s where you guys are at.

      4. The real struggle is realizing the turtle was smarter, while battling your own inner rabbit who just wants to gung-ho everything.

      5. Right – on. You have to be so well prepared that you always feel under prepared and tinkering things as you go. And that’s ok.

About Me

Hello! I am Ashley and I simply love to read, and hope you do to!
I am currently 29 years old and living in the state of Texas, USA.

My favorite genres to read and review include romance, fantasy, mystery, and many subgenres of those as long as it is clean. I mainly get my books from my Kindle Unlimited membership, but I also found myself checking out library books on Libby as well.

As you can see, I do not solely post book reviews, I also love posting daily prompt writing, as well as stuff that is going on in my life currently. That being said, my passion is reading and reviewing books to my heart’s content, so hopefully that is something you are also interested in.

I do have a Goodreads where you can follow if you desire (no pressure!) I also have a StoryGraph, of which you can follow me here.
