After doing some browsing and messaging, we have found a potential van for our conversion!
We were able to walk them down a bit on the price and are scheduled to go check it out sometime tomorrow. Lord willing, everything checks out with the title and the capability of the van to work as intended. After we get it, we are going to immediately get it insured and sent into the shop to get it fully inspected. One of Kolton’s childhood friends is a manager for said shop, so he is aware of the situation and is more than willing to head that whole process for us which is a blessing. Basically, whatever they recommend, we plan on doing.
*UPDATE*
Since I had already started this post, I will just continue it today. We went to check out the van mentioned above and unfortunately it was a no-go. There was just a bit too many things we would have to pay to fix so we deemed it too costly. The brake lights and back blinkers were not even working, and we did not want to risk driving thirty or so minutes back to the house. Based on our luck, we would have gotten ticketed for sure. It was a bit disappointing for sure, but I was able to physically see the room in the back, and it is not too shabby! The people were also very nice so that was a plus.
A good thing that came out of today though is we will not need all the paperwork we thought we would. We took a trip to the DMV this morning and found out we would not need a Bill of Sale since they are no longer required in Texas. Thus, making the whole transition much easier.
We have found some more options and are reaching out to them so hopefully one of these will be it.
