First of all, I hope all my American friends have a fantastic Thanksgiving! If you are getting together with friends and family that you have an enjoyable one. If you find yourselves away from your loved ones, I hope you know that I am praying for you to find some peace today and throughout all the holiday season. We can always find something to be thankful for 🙂

I would not say my family does anything ‘special’ for the holidays, as we tend to stick to the traditional meals. We do each have our own niches though.

My aunt and uncle are on top of the ham and turkey each year since they do the hosting. My aunt also does a great carrot casserole.

My grandma typically brings the stuffing, salad and dessert.

My cousins bring the corn casserole, mashed potatoes, some form of veggie casserole and maybe their own desserts.

When my sister is able to come, she typically makes a dessert. While my mom typically brings a broccoli and cheese casserole.

I have been designated as the macaroni person apparently lol This year, I am pushing myself a little bit and making a brand-new macaroni and cheese dish I have never made before, chicken and dumplings and a sweet potato snack cake for dessert. I will be substituting with pumpkin since I could not freaking find any sweet potato puree at my local grocery store this morning. It is going to be a hectic morning for Thanksgiving since they all have different prep and cook times, but it will be okay…!

This menu is just for Thanksgiving. For Christmas and Easter, the spread is more open and can involve brisket, hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken, etc. Even still my aunt and uncle typically handle the main dishes while everyone else handles the sides, extras and desserts.
